Passione per l'educazione

Il narratore della storia di Adrian Leverkühn, Zeitbloom, in "Il Doktor Faustus" di Thomas Mann, scrive che a lui è sempre parso che vi sia una connessione tra lo studio delle humanae litterae e la passione per l'educazione dei giovani".
La nuova riforma scolastica indica quali vie per i giovani il sapere limitato a "internet, lingua inglese, impresa".
La scuola dovrebbe preparare i giovani al lavoro presso le imprese o presso uno stato"Informatizzato".
Sono convinto che non sia questo il compito e la missione della scuola, ma che essa risieda nelll'educazione spirituale dei giovani. Non si può limitare l'insegnamento alla tecnica e nenache alla scienza, se non si recupera l'etimologia della parola scienza. La scienza e la tecnica che oggi conosciamo, domani sarà superata, ma una coscienza critica ed educata spiritualmente saprà imparare il nuovo e forse saprà anche scegliere che cosa imparare. Perfino nelle università americane è scritto che lo studio non insegna un mestiere, ma può soltanto insegnare ad imparare. Non si tratta di differenze tra discipline scientifiche e sapere umanistico, si tratta bensì di indicare ai giovani la qualità della vita, si tratta di dire loro che saper usare un computer è importante, ma anche che leggere una poesia o una tragedia greca è un'esperienza di vita.
